Product description

We offer custom house signs, or building signs as they are also called. They are mainly used to indicate the door numbers, or building numbers, in a street.

They can also be used to show which family lives in the house or which company occupies a building. Although their function is mainly practical, a building sign can be customised to create a stylish, personal feel. Different materials, sizes, fonts and colours can easily create a personalised sign perfect for a building exterior. On our Design Page, you can design a bespoke house sign on your own in the desired colour, shape and material.

We can offer you this:

  • Cheap house signs
  • Materials perfect for outside use
  • Different sizes, colours, shapes and fixing methods
  • Quantity discount
  • Satisfied customer guarantee
  • Quick delivery
  • Carbon offset shipping
  • Top customer service

Different types of house signs

Although there are number of variations on the house sign, they are mostly associated with a frontage sign that indicates the building number.

House Name & Number Signs

A house sign plaque can have different layouts depending on the placement of the sign. Is it to be placed on a front door or on a building? We offer you different materials, sizes, fonts, attachments etc. for you to find your perfect house sign.

House numbers

The most common type of house signs only feature the house number. Of these, the square sign is the most common, with a white background and black numbers. Using our Design Page, it’s easy to choose colour, shape, material and font for customised house number plates for your home.

Street and number

Some also choose, in addition to the street number, to include the name of the street the house is on. Such signs are common for houses that stand at a corner where two streets meet. It can be difficult to determine which street the house is on unless it is indicated with a clear house sign.

Letters instead of numbers

One way of creating frontage signs slightly different is to indicate the house number with letters. Instead of a frontage sign with the number 7, you can use the word SEVEN instead. Using letters makes it even easier to create the custom house sign for your front door. Signomatic offers vinyl text (contour-cut text in vinyl), which can be applied to a window.

House signs in different materials

We offer signs in different materials, sizes, colours and shapes. Materials such as acrylic and aluminium are perfect for outside use. Text and image are printed digitally on the surface and the sign is given a final coating of UV-protective laminate.

Acrylic house signs – for an exclusive feel

Design a beautiful and modern house name plaque on our Design Page. We offer acrylic house signs with frosted glass effect as well as clear acrylic signs. The lettering is usually done in black on a white or transparent background. If the background is dark the lettering can be in bright colours such as white, silver grey or gold. It is applied to the reverse of the sign and is therefore well protected. They can be used for house signs, door number signs or name plates. The acrylic signs can be ordered with high quality stand-off fittings.

Aluminium – a popular material

Aluminium signs or metal signs are durable signs perfect for outside use. You can get your aluminium plaques in different shapes; as oval, round, square or as a triangle. They make perfect house signs, text or number being printed on the surface of the sign.

Plastic signs – engraved or printed?

An engraved door plate can be a nice decoration at your front door. We engrave name, number, images and other information on your house sign plaque according to your wishes.

We also offer plastic signs with colour printing. Our printed plastic signs are made from foam plastic (Forex) and last longest if used indoors. The material is slightly thicker (3 mm) and more flexible (bendable) than an engraved plastic sign. The type of material and house sign you choose will depend entirely on how it will be used.

We offer a range of different custom signs, some of them listed below.

  • Restroom signage
  • Bathroom door signs
  • Toilet signs
  • Sauna signs

Wooden house signs

Are you looking for signs for interior use? Our wooden signs are intended for inside use, many times used to convey a softer, warmer feel.

Our wooden signs are available in various types of wood. Choose between oak, cherry and maple, depending on what type of colour on the material you want. You then choose the colour of the text and any motifs to convey the right feeling with your wooden sign. The Design Page offers thousands of design options, which means that you can design practically any sign you need.

Wooden signs can brighten up a bathroom door, are perfect for holiday cottages or can be hung as a welcome sign to make a great first impression on guests as they enter your home.

Contour-cut house signs

Are you looking for unique signage with a custom-cut design? We offer contour-cut house signs in acrylic for indoor and outdoor. Custom contour-cut signs are perfect for the ones looking for cut-out letters or numbers to place on a wall, a door or on a building. All our contour-cut signage have a self-adhesive backing. House plaques of this type are elegant and clean and are often used in companies as office door signage and entrance signs. Contour-cut lettering is also a popular alternative in restaurants and hotels.

Cut-out numbers are also popular as house numbers and other numbers that need to be clearly visible. This type of house sign creates a clean, stylish impression and is popular in indoor environments. If you want to put up a custom house sign of this type, keep in mind that the surface must be clean, dry and smooth in order for the sign to adhere properly and stay up for a long time. This is particularly important if you intend to place the sign outside.

The beauty of being able to design a house sign is that each product is unique, and no two signs are ever alike. Of course, you can select or adapt existing sample house signs directly on the website, but most customers still want a personalised house sign to hang on the inner or outer door to represent the people who live in the house.

I want to upload a picture of my house plaque. What format should I choose?

Using pictures is a great idea – they can make a house sign even more personal! With us, you can easily upload your own images or logos. We always recommend vectorised images, such as PDF, EPS or SVG for optimum quality. The general recommended resolution for images is 300 dpi. You can then enlarge or reduce images as you want and position them where you want on the sign on our Design Page.

How should I attach my house sign?

We offer various fixing methods, depending on the type of sign and material you have chosen. An engraved house plaque can be ordered with tape, for instance. An aluminium house sign in a larger size requires a fastening device that can bear the sign and its weight. Screws, standoffs or a flag attachment can be recommended here, and can be selected on the Design Page.
