Product description

City or county councils are responsible for putting up street name signs on the public roads. This applies to everything from major motorways to street signs in residential areas. For a housing association, company or private person, it may be necessary, in addition to those signs, to put up a separate street sign to make it easier for visitors to find their way. Many people also order street name signs for private roads, for which the local authorities have no signage responsibility.

The fact that a street name sign shows the name of the street is, of course, self-evident. However, if you are designing your own sreet sign, you should also consider whether to include any additional information. On the Design Page, you can make your own street sign, with the desired text and images.

Street signs – What to include?

The street name

By far the most common thing to include on a street sign is the street name. There are also occasions when you want to mark a special place with a street sign. The category of street signs includes both types of signs, street name signs and signs on the street.

House numbers

The aim of a street name sign is to make it easier for visitors to find their way around. For this reason, house numbers are often included on signs. An example would be “10-14 Main Street” to make finding a specific house number easier.

Neighbourhood names

Many people also include the neighbourhood name on signs. This is information that few road users need, but displaying the neighbourhood name also indicates the housing association in many cases, as neighbourhoods and housing associations often share names.
